Level 1 glitch preventing me from progressing

Hi

I've gotten to a point in the first level (Thistle and weeds) where you have to collect some more yarn by pulling down some thistles. However, the option to tie myself to the thistle isn't available? I've tried everything I can think of aside from restarting the level.

Just wondering if there's a solution to this before resorting to replaying the game/level from scratch.

EDIT: I've just tried it again after leaving the game for a few days and it now works. I'm not exactly sure what fixed it so if anyone else has this issue my advice would be to leave it for a day or two.

Shoot your yarn at thistle and pull it away, no need to tie yourself to it (if I'm understanding correctly).

Sorry, yes, this is what I meant by 'tie myself' to it - clearly I don't know the terms that well haha

I actually did manage to shoot my yarn at it on my first try but before I could pull back it detached and I haven't been able to shoot at it since
