Life of Crime copy included

A quote from the "Out now" news post:

"Important notes/FAQ
- How much does the game cost?
The game's price is $19.99 with a 25% launch discount during the first week (each copy comes with a copy of the original Kingpin: Life of Crime). There is also a 30% discount for those who already own the original."

I did not receive a copy of the og Life of Crime. Am I misinterpreting or did the devs make a mistake?

I also didn't get the original game. Either that was the initial plan and it was scrapped, or someone goofed and didn't include the original game with the package.

yep, good question. the fact there is a "complete kingpin" bundle which sells kingpin: life of crime and kingpin: reloaded bundled together for more than kingpin: reloaded is alone makes me think they aren't including the original with kingpin: reloaded, despite what you accurately quoted from the "out now" post.

i suppose a remote possibility is the "complete kingpin" bundle may have been created solely as a means to give owners of the original a larger discount (30% vs 25%), but the messaging is super inconsistent and the bundle is still being sold to players who don't own the original game on steam at a higher price point (my kingpin: life of crime copy is from gog).

This is how I understood the meaning of this bundle. After all, the description states that the old version comes with the reloaded version by default.

Another quote from the pinned January 2020 FAQ:

“ Will the original 1999 version be included or do i have to buy that separately?
Yes, the original Classic version will be included.”

I was going to buy the bundle until I read the “Out now” and “2020 FAQ”, and noticed they both said the og 1999 Life of Crime was included. At this point I’m probably going to refund. This situation definitely smells of mismanagement which affected all sides of development. No shade to the individual developers, I’m sure you guys gave it your best. Hopeful for a drastic change at 3D realms.
