Can you describe how you were able to do this?
I just tried and was not able to do it.
Trying to replicate it so we can address it.
Hello!
The method: save at the end of the tunnel and reload. Approach the seller guy and press "Positive interaction". If he says: "I'll give you a crowbar for a dollar", press "positive interaction" a couple more times to be safe and the guy will give you the crowbar for free! May take a couple of tries.
I attached a video demonstration below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnEr-Zt-aD8
After fresh game start I went in the little secret area, then went on and talked to the fat guy but obviously I did not have a dollar so I wasn't able to buy the crowbar yet. But about 10 seconds later i got into a fight with the next guy for talking to his wife and both of them whacked me to death. After I had respawned in starting area I went straight to the fat guy and now could buy his crowbar for a dollar that i didn't have. I only pressed positive interaction once.
I read the negative reviews and all the cons - I won't be buying - I'm very disappointed.
I'll check back here and there - but based on this release, I doubt there will be much in the way of useful patches.
Edit: well someone from their staff posted at the same time as this - and I saw some other replies about plans to solve many issues - so I'll retain some optimism and check back next year.
I actually would not lose hope completely. Some games cannot be patched out to be good, like XIII remake. This one, though? There is hope. Texture work is good. Gameplay rebalance is pretty good too! However, sound design is awful. Some sounds are simply not there. HUD needs more customization options, like the ability to turn the old HUD back with the new graphics. Overall, ability to customize how the game looks would be highly appreciated. Lights are weirldy bright.
However, this things can be fixed with patches. If developers care and players report, there is hope. This remaster is not a disaster. But it needs polish.
This happened to me too, I started the game after fiddling with the graphic/gameplay settings, played it on "Real" and skipped the first cutscene.
