Combat is both out of place and unbalanced. there is little point in grinding. In fact, you could just strip the dungeon area out of the game, as it serves little purpose in being there.
Also, it takes a fair amount to level up to deal decent damage to the last area of the dungeon. I ended up running away for most of the fights, as they were too time consuming and pointless. Then after the last fight, the game was over.
The story only had one ending, while many games I have played, at least gave you a choice, either full clean, or a dark path.
As for the H scenes, you seen one, you seen them all.
There are far better games out there. Island saga, and many others, I played a fair few of these types of games. And Avaria is very weak compare to them.
So for, me, I would give it a 5, even the art doesn't really save it. Now if there were more scenes, and more varied, that would help a bit, but while the artist is good, its not enough to save this game from been a poor one.
You want another good game, try Meltys Quest, there are different endings in that, and the combat is fun too. plus has a NG+. That game is quality.
The problem with Avaria, its half finished, half baked. seemed like it was either rushed, or the devs didn't really want to do a good effort in the first place.
That is why I gave this game a thumbs down.
So I might change my mind.
I guess EVERYTHING is a matter of opinion. For instance, I tried playing Curse Of Kubel and Avaria is a masterpiece compared to that. I would give Kubel a 3 out of 10.
Also: I'm a turn based combat junkie so that might have something to do with it.
Meltys Quest (now this is a really good game, and beats Avaria hands down, and has a NG+
Tina: Swordswoman of the Scarlet Prison (that was pretty decent game)
Ideology in Friction (also very good)
Island saga (Very good indeed, currently playing it, and the combat system is quite good too, near the old Final fantasy game levels)
Those I would consider to be far better.
While I won't spoil the ending for you, with Avaria, it felt forced, it felt that the dungeon grinding was just added to prolonged the game. Especailly as there is only one outcome.
Plus there been nothing from the devs, still some bugs that needs to be fixed in Avaria. But sadly, I played past 2 hours and cant refund. I played it to the end, as I hoped things would get better. But sadly, it didn't, especailly the ending. very abrupt, you know why, when you see it.
I appreciate you not spoiling the ending. LOL
Anyway, the games you mentioned? I own or have played them ALL. In fact, I own probably 75 percent of the H RPG games on Steam.
Can you recommend any good turn based ones NOT on Steam?
My review was based on I thought this game is FUN. Plain and simple. Are there better games out there? Absolutely.
