The Library?
In chapter 3 right now, and I've managed to convince the witch (IDK what to call it and that's just what my mind says it looks like) to come down to the ground floor and I've managed to hide from it with the plant, but then the boy refuses to climb the stairs while the witch's back is turned. He just shrugs like I randomly mashed the Z key. I don't understand. How else am I supposed to get past this guy if the boy refuses to go up and there's nothing else I can seem to do at the moment? Have I missed a step, 'cause there doesn't seem to be anything else I can get at the moment

Wait... how? Ring the bell from the first floor and run all the way to the left side of the second floor? I... maybe? I remember trying to drag him down to the first floor and just staying to the right of the stairs but for some reason he spotted me immediately. I even had the plant between me and him. So it's kinda weird to think you can do it without cover?
If so, why is the plant there?? It's clearly designed to be used to hide...

yea, it works if you time it when he is on the right side

not sure if there are any glitches with plant, I was able to do it as well by placing plant on the right side, not sure if you even need it

you might have to time it when he checks the bell*

Well, that worked. Huh. I feel like we weren't supposed to do it that way? I mean, there's a ground level bell hook and a plant that see no use at all. Odd. Well, that means I've at least finished the game once now.
(side note: I feel like I should have been able to do something to help that monster at the end; now I feel bad that I just left it. Anyone else?)

I am pretty sure he overlooked it

Pull the plant all the way right and hide in it

In my original post, I did state that such was the strategy I initially used. However, the boy refused to climb the stairs. He merely shrugged like he didn't understand the concept. Perhaps that has been silently patched since, but otherwise, I understand why you say that, but it sure as heck did nothing for me.

I stood on-top of the plant not "behind"(like right or left of) it, my 1st try was too like stand behind it but then I realized I need to jump on top of it.. maybe that was your problem?

No, no, the problem wasn't hiding from goblin-thing. Never was, really, It's that the boy won't go up the stairs when you drag the goblin all the way to ground level. Whenever I told him to go up, he would just shrug.
But when I tried Beetle's method, to hide from him through a less rational method, I guess because I was already on the second floor that the boy didn't have any trouble moving to the third? I don't know, all I know is that when I played, the boy just refused to simply travel up stairs at a critical moment
