It is really annoying when developers do this.
The cheat codes are intended to be a thank-you to patrons who are actively supporting the game, but that is a suggestion I can pass along to the team! =)
I guess Steam community does not generate that $20,399 PER MONTH (at this moment) as Patreon site does.
Cutting features is not the answer. Tune up the price if you have to (just make sure to do some analysis to determine if you'll make sales here), release DLCs, et cetera, but don't cut features that customers have to go elsewhere to get. I'm not pitchforking here, just giving sincere advice. I've been on Steam since the beginning, and know the mood around here really well.
Please see what you can do.
My brother in Christ, while I do get what you are saying and 100% agree when it comes to game play features and dlc, I don't really think that cheat codes necessarily fall under that umbrella. Unlocking the entirety of the gallery or the 'full gallery unlock' is something that, I believe, you can get by just playing the game as intended. A cheat codes is just that, a cheat, a way to bypass the necessary parts of the game in order to get something sooner. Again though, I do agree with you that you shouldn't have to go through url gymnastics to find additional content that the developers intended to be apart of the average game play experience, such as content expansions, updates, or dlc. I just don't think that this is an example of such a situation.
What if someone supported you on patreon but wanted to keep the game on steam while using the code from patreon? They have to just install the game again for no reason?
• As the game is still in development, a great number of scenes unlock after the player reaches the temporary end of the main storyline.
• Once reaching the end of the WIP storyline, the player will be granted a significant number of scenes that are not yet obtainable via gameplay.
• Every other scene in the gallery can be unlocked after discovering them during gameplay, usually by progressing with the characters they belong to:
◦ Farm monster scenes can be unlocked by pairing them together on the farm.
◦ Recruitable NPC scenes must be unlocked by raising their romance level (only Fio & Yonten in the current version).
◦ Lesser NPC scenes must be encountered by either talking to their character or fulfilling a quest they give.
• The cheat table in the Patreon version MIGHT get added to the Steam version as well after the game's launch, but this has not been set in stone yet.
Got it. Paying customers don´t count as supporting you, they are just foolish moneybags.

- Gabe Newell.
I think that is something everyone should keep in mind.
