Veteran Player- Always Confused

I've been playing this game on and off for years and I'm always confused by what to do most of the time. I feel that the game doesn't do a super great job of explaining some mechanics after they've been in the game awhile as well. But that's not what I'm here to ask. What or who is the Ruby Fruits for? I've been buying them up from the trader since I have an excess of rubies and I'm not sure who uses them? Is there anyway to tell which characters can use them? I assume the ones available from the ruby chests can maybe? I'm just afraid to waste resources on any of those characters to find out. Thanks.

Dont bother buying them. Rubyfruits are for "Valkyrie ...." heroes. And they are nothing worth to level. Rubies are best used on Artifacts to change mods.
