How the fudge do I get the party to HOLD position at the lever, in the safe zone of the floor, while I engage the floor puzzle?

As I switch between characters the behavior coding seems to port all characters not under my control onto the puzzle pieces instead of leaving them on the safe zone in front of the lever. Which is bizarre. They will teleport off the safe zone just over the edge onto puzzle pieces as I try to round robin positioning onto the island. In tactical mode it will not allow repositioning. Re-engaging "HOLD" (what a fudging joke that "command" is) does exactly nothing to "HOLD" anyone.

I "HOLD" the party off the puzzle and they teleport to me every single time, even if I'm just 2 tiles from them.

So. Is there any way around this broken "HOLD" function? As a PC gamer, I'm always open to modding single player for better game enjoyment and bug resolution.

(I really hope Bioware fixes this unenjoyable tactical and combat cluster for absolution, none of these issues were present in the prior 2 games. Tanks tanked by running in and aggroing first and not following melee rogues around, and characters held when you told them to hold. Bioware has the capacity, clearly, hopefully they engage it for the next one).

The HOLD function is broken, but in fact your teammates have zero effect on the puzzle tiles, so just try to ignore them and--this is important--don't let them bump you around, which sometimes ruins your efforts.

BTW if you go to the last tab on the screen where you pick your powers, you can change the "Following..." setting to the characters themselves, so they don't actually follow anyone at all but act in accord with their own inner logic.

For nearly a decade I've been tearing my hair out when mages and twanger rogues rush right into the thick of the melee, but now...they keep their distance. Who knew ?!? :-)
