Multiplayer armor crafting?

How does it work, exactly?

Started playing this recently and so far gotten some random blue drops for the classes that i have available but since certain materials are fairly difficult to come by haven't tried crafting much of anything yet, cept something for the Elementalist and Reaver, which just unlocked 3 new choices for both.

Which just made me wonder how do i progress from there?

Do i need to craft one of that.. tier of armor to unlock the next one or do i need to craft all 3 of them before the next tier, whatever it may becomes available or is there something else i need to do, like pray to the RNGeesus for extra drops from the boxes that will unlock further options?

You craft one of them and a new tier becomes available. It doesn't matter which one.
