Is there a way to bypass launching origin to launch this game? i mean it's installed in steam anyway.
Also, i just reinstalled the game and still getting the same problem.
Btw just to note. My PC is running Windows 10 if there's a chance the game isn't compatible with this OS.
1) verify files in both Steam and Origin (the one with the ‘Steam’ logo)
2) start Origin manually before running from Steam…don’t let Steam start Origin and don’t let Origin start from boot…always start manually
3) restarting the PC then following the steps above
If I follow the above steps it eventually works for me.
Hey...that's great! :-)
One thing I should mention that might be helpful...Origin by default is persistent after you exit the game, so what I've gotten the habit of doing is I manually quit Origin after I exit the game, that way I avoid all sorts of "Origin/Dragon Age Inquisition is already running!" or "Incorrect game version detected, updating your game now!" error messages.
I also noticed you said you tried to run the game from the Frosty Mod Manager...that's necessary if you're using mods but it can confuse the Origin client as well--that's actually what gave me the impetus to quit Origin manually after every game exit. I would launch the game and Origin would tell me it needed to do an update and proceed to take forever to do so...after which my mods wouldn't work! So be aware that the interactions between Frosty and origin are...problematic.
BTW I expect Frosty wants "elevated permissions," so try launching it "As Administrator" and see if that makes a difference.
Well that has all the hallmarks of corrupted data. Try letting Steam do a complete file check and also try loading an earlier save from the main screen if you can get at least that far.
(I play many other games, just check my profile, is public. So no, is not my PC).
That did it and the game runs well now. Hope this helps.
The same problem with you today (12 Apr 2024). I have 2 games in EA launcher, one is DAI and another is Jedi Fallen Order. The JFO still run smoothly, but i donnt the reason why DAI got stuck :(
It started working just fine after verifying the game files and opening Task Manager and ending every instance of the EA app and then re-launching, but I'm not sure which fixed it.
