Does it still FPS lock on cutscenes with no option to unlock?
Pretty much the main reason I never ended up really playing very far into the game with my Origin copy. Might consider picking it up again here if that's fixed...

As far as I can tell yes, and while its pretty jarring to go down to 30fps during cutscenes its a totally fantastic game and that alone shouldnt put you off playing it at all

No, well at least it's easily fixable. I'm playing the game at 144hz, and I'm nearly done with it at ~105 hours in. You just need to go to game properties in Origin, then advanced launch options, and add "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+" Which will make the doors open at 60+ fps, and the cutscenes animate at 60fps. That's as good as it gets. Btw I found and obscure PC bug. If you use a wifi/bluetooth controller it lowers the FPS by a lot. I have to use it wired for this game.

Nice, that works

I'm aware of that fix, however it also desyncs the audio from the video (same thing happens when you disable the frame pacer in FFXIII-2). Just replaces one game-crippling problem with another.

It's locked at 30fps for the animation system, If you unlock FPS you will notice weird stuff happening.

For example dragons fly at stupid speeds, barrage targeting gets borked but allows you to use winter stillness without it "moving" your toon and disabling the effect. Charging bull doesn't work properly you just kinda run a little and then stop. Certain Synced NPC animations will be out of sync, like the ones of your soldiers training in haven.
While the cut scenes do seem to look better they have some issues as well with characters randomly bobbing up and down slightly. I've tried 60 and 144 and ended up going back to 30fps because of these issues.
