Trespasser too difficult?
Hello! I am already on level 27 which seems to be the level cap.

Right now the enemies can kill me with just one hit.

Is it meant to be that difficult or is it my gear?

My party consists of Varric, Dorian and Cassandra.

Thank you!

I think they made Tresspaser enemies scale with your level . I also noticed a difficulty spike during that DLC. Normally enemies have a level cap depending on the area ( unless you use the mode that makes them scale to yours). In Tresspaser however it seems that mode is used automatically.

Could be a mix. Check the armor and weapons of you and your companions. Make better ones by buying materials from the store and crafting at the forge at the Winter Palace.

Your companions skills might need resetting as well. The Qunari will be a pain to fight if your tank can't aggro and take hits and your mage cant support DPS with barriers.

Might also try changing you party for more survivability, say two warrior tanks and a mage, or two barrier mages and a tank (depending on what your inquisitor is).

Don't feel too bad though, they really upped the difficulty of the enemies in Tresspasser. My first playthrough had almost every battle finish with only one of my companions left standing.

I just finished Trespasser mostly on Nightmare level. I did not have any problems except the bug I reported on with not being able to release my character from a wheel. I had Sera, Cassandra and Dorian. Dorian's abilities were heavy on the fire spells which helped in some battles. One thing I will say has helped me a lot in later game is the "Jar of Bees" grenade, which by the time I started Trespasser was enhanced fully. I gave this grenade to all in my party, and if things got tough, I threw one at the more powerful enemy warrior, or maybe at a very irritating enemy archer. After inflicting them with bees, you can pretty much ignore this enemy as long as the bees last. They just run around in panic. Of course Trespasser is long, so you need to have a lot of these grenades and use them sparingly so they last. But there was another thing that got me through this easily: I found an enhancement material for a weapon which inflicts the targeted enemy with "Jar of Bees", and I built a bow with this for my archer/rogue Sera. This was a real plus; she was giving "Jar of Bees" almost constantly to whoever she was targeting.
