WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS, EA BIOWARE!? WHY DO YOU SLAP US PLAYERS WITH BLACK HAIR IN THE FACE!?
That's what I thought when creating my character in the dimly lit creation module, but in the bright daylight of Haven and the Hinterlands, it became painfully obvious it was actually dark brown. And the save editor confirmed this by showing the numerical values of brown.
Fair enough. But for all the people I've met with--I realize this isn't a logical way to describe it--"dark black" hair, their hair is actually a very dark brown or red-brown.
I might never have noticed but I went to school with a Thai fella and he pointed it out to me: if you looked through his hair while it was backlit by a bright light it definitely showed in as dark red-brown.
I also knew a fella who married a Thai woman and it was the same with her.
So I respect your desire for an alternative but I don't honestly think what you want is actually a "natural" color!
I assure you that it is, and even if you disagree, I'm sure you'll have to agree it's way more natural than the blues and purples that you're allowed to create in the character creation module. And, need I remind you, Cassandra has it.
No argument about blues, purples or Cass. Also, please note that my statement was not intended categorically, but merely as a reflection of my own observations over a 65-year lifetime.
I've never seen anything but more or less "normal" hair colors though, how do you get blues or purples? Are you using a mod for that?
IIRC. they're available in the character creation module, but my memory sucks, so you might want to check that for yourself. I know eye colours come in many unnatural colours.
Eye colors, agreed. I often pick the "golden-eyed" look myself, especially if I'm playing an elven rogue, to honor Jack Vance's character "Liane the Wayfarer"
But in my experience--and I just started a new playthrough in the last couple days--all the colors in the hair part are kinda normal-looking (a few are a bit too bright, but hey). Is it possible you're conflating the CC from DAI with the CC from DAV?
Fair enough. Just a shot in the dark. And truthfully if you'd watched as many of the YouTube videos on DAV as I have--did you know it has an amazing CC ?!? With great hair !!!
But does it support black hair?
Me neither
