Tactical View UI Guide or mods?
After have found this video guise:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ-asPRTixI

It is rather well done but I wondered if there wasn't more.

For those like me that don't like video guides or just want a quicker overview of what it had through text:

  • Enemy details.
  • Switching between enemy targets not too far.
  • Right click to force selected character selected attack an enemy.
  • Enemy detail showing list of characters selected to attack the enemy.
  • Make whole party attack an enemy (lame if you ask me).
  • Cancel all commands for all party.
  • How halt and force not move one character.
  • How make a character defend another and where it's shown.
  • How chain a cast and a move with a basic stacking of orders (the game hasn't full orders stacking).
  • How stack a move and halt no more move after.
  • Change camera angle even in Tactical View to have a different perspective (in practice it's often the only way to manage obstacles not hidden nor well managed with the auto positioning of the cam).

Myself for now I didn't quote anything else, but some quotes, indirectly related:

  • Fix when a character stop follow any move order:
    • During the video he gets a bug I seem have sometimes, and probably only in tactical view, sometimes a character just stop follow any move order. In this case use the cancel all orders isn't enough, do it and make the character use a skill, it seems clean the bug.
  • When an enemy is selected for a character, you can just trigger attack spells without needing select again the enemy, but for AOE you need select the central point.
  • Game option to disable switch in tactical view with mouse wheel (Options>Playability).
  • Game options to force pause when tactical view is activated (Options>Playability).
  • When you start use more the Tactical View you really need check AI options, for sure it's very limited compared to DAI and DA2, but it worth consider the possibilities:
    • AI>Behaviors>Target Choice>Character himself. It makes easier use more sophisticated tactics than all party attacking one enemy.
    • AI>Behaviors>Target Choice>Character that is your tank: For close range rogues you want control less it's an ok AI option.
    • AI>Tactics>Consider unselect some spells/tactics, depends of your tactics/approach, for me I found better unselect barrier and AOE.
    • AI>Tactics>Consider make priority some spells/tactics, depends of your tactics/approach, for me I found better for warrior I want control less to put here skills increasing their shielding.
