Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to have worked for me. It still won't launch, either from Steam or from the EA app.
This didn't work either, unfortunately. Tried it a few times just to make sure.
I did everything I could, even contacting EA. They blamed Steam, and told me to ask them. I asked Steam, they basically blamed EA, and that was that. I decided to refund the bundle, since it was less that 24 hours, and Steam refused, stating I played ME:A over six hours, so they wouldn't do anything for me.
Two years later, and and across three different platforms, and this game would not play. I tried a cracked version of this game and ME:A, in the presence of a police officer and a computer tech from my ISP, and guess what? BOTH GAMES WORKED PERFECTLY, so I know it's not something with my PC, as everyone is quick to say. I play the latest, most demanding games, and they work fine. It just seems to be EA games.
I uninstalled the cracked games after confirmation, and had the tech guy check over my system to gurantee I had everything removed, and then I contacted Steam and EA again, and both companies refused to help me fix the problem. I just decided to avoid EA all together, since their games never work, or don't work for very long. And as for Steam, I am leary about my purchases.
I am not one to normally condone pirated games, as I pay for everything I have. But you have to admit, I can see the appeal, when you pay for something, it doesn't work properly, and you can not either return it, or get it fixed. As I see it, it's BOTH EA's and Steam's fault, and neither wants to own up.
This was the issue when I looked up my problem online - EA won't do anything to fix it. What's interesting is that I also have this game on console and never experience any issues with it there.
Same. It only happens on PC. Even through the XBOX Cloud Gaming App (Beta), it crashes, or keeps asking if you are still playing, like every 5 minutes, and then when you say yes, it darkens the screen, making it unplayable. I had asked a person who does captures from DA:I, and posts them on Nexus, and she says she bought her version through the new EA App, and the game plays perfectly. It doesn't for me, but my copy on XBOX console works. Leads me to believe that it's their launching service, or servers. Anywhere else, and you could sue them, since they sold you a product, and then fail to deliver a working product.
Have you tried logging on/off?
Or reinstalling the launcher?
I've tried both of these multiple times with no success.
Yup, this is exactly what happens to me. Still can't find a fix for it...
