Controller stopped working.

Hi, Ive been playing the game for 20 hours with my controller just fine, Today i went to play and im stuck at the Press Start. I went to the files and disable the gamepad and played a bit with the mouse and keyboard and went back to try controller and it wont work. Anyone has any ideas what might have happen? Controllers works fine in every other game and has worked fine with dragon age, now it decided to not work anymore.

I have the same problem, I read that having multiple controllers set up messes with the games ability to detect your controller that your using but I only have one controller and the Keyboard and mouse?

It didn't detect the controller at first for me too. I checked in Steam's options everything was in order. Rebooted the computer and it worked.

However you say it worked before? Not sure about the "went to the files" part. Maybe a validation of the files would help?

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game as well as shut down my computer, it still won't detect my controller despite the fact that it had no issues just over 2 weeks ago. I don't know how to edit the files like every method I've found so far, so I haven't done that at this point. I'll try validating the game files though and do an update afterwards if I can remember.

Try plug out the controller and plug in the controller in the game. For me it worked like that.

I've tried that at the menu but I still couldn't get past the start screen

First click start and then plug out and plug in. Because I had the same problem. Hopefully it will work this time.

Check also your settings in game maybe it is reset because you installed the game again.

I got it to work after starting a new character with keyboard and mouse settings and the controller unplugged, then saving and closing the game and opening the game back up with the controller plugged back in.

Guys, restarting the PC fixed it. Working again.
