Only thing you might possibly consider that's not on your list so far: go into the Device Manager and delete the video adapter in its entirety ("Uninstall Device"). Then power down and restart. During the Windows startup phase your machine should say it has "detected new hardware" and will ask you if you want to install it, so say yes. That should install Windows's own "vanilla" driver for your adapter card. Try running with that. Then try updating to the latest GeForce drivers using the NVidia GeForce Experience app. According to my machine, the current version of the GeForce drivers seems to be 546.01 dated 31 October 2023.
To be clear, I've no idea if this will help at all. But it's worth a try if you haven't done it already.
EDIT: Some additional thoughts: based on the error message content, it's also possible that the problem lies in whatever version of the DirectX package DAI is using, so you might want to see if you can uninstall that and then reinstall it cleanly.
Another, more ominous possibility is, your video adapter might be glitched at a hardware level and thus would need to be replaced. But that's clearly a worst-case scenario, and I don't know how you would test for that.
Thank you for reply.
I will look into your suggestions about reinstalling the video adapter and see what I can do.
I have already reinstalled DirectX once but maybe there is some way to do it more thoroughly.
It is a fairly new machine and I can play other more graphic heavy games fine, so I hope it isn't a hardware problem.
Thank you for reply.
I have already disabled the in-game overlay (edited in my original post now) and I don't use reshade.
Thank you for your reply.
I have already unistalled the game since I got tired of trying when nothing worked. Hopefully your solution can be of help for someone else.
