Latest patch

im trying to play on one of my saves but its saying to update to the latest patch first. I have no idea on how to do that. I checked on EA and steam for an update but im not seeing anything.

My guess is that your files may be glitched somehow. Try the "File Verification" function on Steam, and I think there might be a similar function on the EA client: I seem to recall there was one on Origin, anyhow. But try the Steam one first; if it still won't launch, try the one on EA--if it's still there, they may have eliminated it along the way.

I believe it's also possible to tweak the version number manually, but I don't know how to do it exactly. There might be some other threads in the forum about that though.

guys, don't buy this until the new EA app is fixed. Don't think EA realizes the game and the app isn't connected on the server side. You can buy it, install it. But if you try to launch it, the EA app will just crash. Think EA just wants you to buy it through their app, not through steam

They never liked that, even removed (already bought) games from Steam to enforce you to use their app/store, like Dragon Age II.

They just recently re-added some of their old games to Steam to make extra cash, but the launcher-launching-launcher nonsense is horrible.

As for the original problem - the game is over 9 years old, there are no recent patches and havent't been for years. Looks like the game doesn't load the included patch(es).
