If you are using the Open-Source Streaming Solution called Moonlight, it might work, according to one of the comments.

I think I misunderstood what you said. You mean, if you have the game installed, but - also - having the linked Controller Service installed and running?
I honestly dont know. But this - could - theoretically work. As you would still pass through the input through the running Controller Service. Its a good idea. But I never tested it.
If you want I could test it, but Im not home at the moment. Earliest possible date for me to try is next year january. If you dont wanna wait, best bet is to just buy it, test it out yourself and refund in case it doesnt work for you.
