Just generic 'missions' with a couple of teammates, especially given the gameplay is now worse than earlier in the series. So one and done for me, we all got other games to play.
They get plenty of justified hate from real fans of the series (especially ME excluding late years).
Though will say they did 1 thing right with this one and removed the stupid required to play it to try and force people to play it so they maybe spend $ + really not affecting single player outside the barely noticeable "guest" appearance of the characters you own
(pretty certain all the real ones will just be in garden section standing about and maybe have a couple clicked on lines).
They even originally even wanting to make the next game multi though pretty sure they got enough backlash and will certainty not do that (I mean hell last thing we need is more ruined/removed single player games let alone another one their "massive multi player games" after that forgotten gone game that does not deserve to even be named).
Keep in mind quite a few of these games came about with these systems before loot boxes got heavily popularized, when ME3 launched back in 2012 that was the first time I ever saw loot boxes but you could earn them so quick and easy by playing it was pointless to spend any money on them. It wasn't until 2016ish and overwatch which main stream games realised how lucrative they could be by holding them on tight restrictions and dragon age inquisition launched in 2014 so a bit before that.
I however still play ME3 multiplayer thru ME3 itself from time to time and it has classes and abilities the base game has never and will never offer and is super fun! But DAi and MEA both failed to offer fun unique gameplay for its multiplayer which is why they flopped honestly, they did nothing innovative but they still try to keep that mode alive cuz of how popular it was and the potential profits of course.
Plus it was not just loot boxes but all sorts along with having to get the aliens and heroes (ie characters you actually want) was a massive chore, plus again in ME3 it strongly affected single player which was the and is the biggest No No (outside mmaayybee OW.5 laughing stock of a required phone, but they blizzzed and just love saying "What you Dont have a Phone" (*smart phone*) sort of deal)
And ya any casual shooter will be to some extent popular even when flopping, I mean hell CoD+Battlefield can make the worst trash number 1000th title with little changed, not to mention be broken af and some awful marketing (mustard gas bad hmmKay and what are nazis).. and still have followers and players (though last couple battlefields did screw up extra royally, they still had/have players and many many their old titles all also have players where available).
It perfectly fine though that you enjoy it, but they should do their best to focus on the single player even with company long dead and being EA bioworn.
I assume though you tried like the Destiny1+2 and that other sci fi mmo lite that was deemed very meh where you die a lot and use a lot of rock powers or something that is not too old or the 1 free one with heavy heavy monetization though fun enough where you fly planet to planet in various bought suits "characters"?
(feels bad if you played their AnThem :D ).
->
Sorry can't remember their names, couldn't care less about them outside when they had all the backlashes and talking points. (Though to be fair the suit one did have that 1 ""good"" moment when someone was far too addicted to buying every pet color).
Anyways sorry for rant and getting off topic :D , I just hope single player never dies because despite what companies like to pretend chasing that easy easy $ single player are better quality and can make good $ while at same time improving the company image (unless they EA hardcore/Ubisoft/Some the Asain ones that all want to sell you every piece of the game separate)..
I played anthem Demo i didnt buy it though cuz the demo was promising but i found out that it was also the whole game and it went from promising to Thats it? lol that had a good game if they made it right but EA failed with their bad push.
I agree ME3 should have left its multiplayer split from single player i wont argue that.
As far as the "its debateable if its earnable" If you beat one hard mode run in multiplayer you get like 110,000 credits and thats enough to buy even the rarest box or several of the smaller boxs, and only a few hours a day when i got it on PC for less then a week and i had all the characters the real grind for multiplayer was maxing out guns cuz there are dozens of guns and you only stop rolling them when you get 10 of them for the X title (ex sniper X) which functioned like they did in game upgrading them just added a roman numeral and some better stats. They also have chest for just getting guns or characters so i wont say everyone would find it fun i found it quite fun and still do from time to time although it is better with people.
Unless updates or w/e changed this which doesn't count.
( I stopped playing it during time they were still adding content to give idea when I played though also no idea when they stopped).
This DA I played a little bit more and also only got, I think was 3 characters with 1 being some special unlock and 1 being near end of when I quit. --
Though dwarf warrior was/is? insanely broken tanky and therefore while kind of boring to me quickly was my go to to beat/unlock things.
I have played maybe 20 hours tops of DAI multiplayer it's fun when my friends played with me but its just more of single player honestly it wasnt as good as ME3 with unique skills and set ups I couldn't do myself.
Also I assume you are not counting all the dlc ones?
Which I just did quick google and just see a lot of talk about how you need many the top tier boxes (spectre+reserve) to spin for apparently.
DAI has just as unique if not more so then what available in comparison from my limited knowledge...
I mean it has Wild Mage, Isabella from previous titles, and even a Bard...
I mean I don't think ME had anything equivalent as going around the battlefield with a lute (w/e ME equivalent would be "bad" dancing while playing the same club music off omnitool?) --> though again suppose to be fair idk for sure as I never saw most the dlc ones.
Either way yeah they have a pack called "reserves pack" which is 99k credits so on hard it would be 1 of those per round pretty easy this pack comes with high chances of rares and higher odds of character rolls, im sure my experience from xbox helped speed this along and i focused on the reserve pack so i could get my favorite classes unlocked again. But on steam i only have around 50 hours and i have all of them i went and checked just to make sure, i had to boot it up. Although i would still play DAI multiplayer with friends it beats running thru single player again however i dont think i could sell my friends on that over ME3 honestly xD it may have bin i was burnt out on single player and mutliplayer just wasnt feeling it for me when we tried.
Hmm i might have to go back to it a bit and check it out more, i think my favorite spell in single player was the one that let you spam a giant magic sword though haha The DLC characters in ME3 ranged from GRENADES ALL OF THEM ngl just the N7 characters in general were busted but the destroyer can fling a copious amount of cluster grenades and if paired with an N7 engineer with pylons, non stop booms lol However the Geth (GOliath?) soldier he was super tall and immune to a lot of the insta kills he is a walking invincible wall if played right.
Altough a bard does sound super funny ngl lol sounds like something i would enjoy playing i love special characters that seem a bit odd.
Still found it insane how dwarf guard was broken af in tankiness to point many games would just waist a hour beating it because while his damage is garbage to make up for his tankiness he was near un-killable which resulted in eventual wins even when team died.
And ya so this game did have the more unique characters it sounds, hich is understandable fantasy crpg is probably going to be a lot easier to make them then a fps set sci fi.
