Multiplayer in 2022

Hi,

Is anyone playing the multiplayer anymore?

I used to play it years ago, was fun for me, now I was trying to come back but over serveral days I couldn't find anyone to play with through in-game Quick Match matchmaking.

Well, I'm not getting any errors, just empty lobbies...

Maybe should we try to create a private lobby?
I'm playing through Origin, but I don't think that makes a difference

Hello!

This question gets asked relatively often. I haven't checked it in a while, but I'm pretty sure there are people still playing multiplayer, unless there is a server problem I don't know about. I don't know the details, so I'll list everything that comes to my mind.

- set the destination to random
- try threatening, it's usually the most populated difficulty
- wait about 5-10 minutes after you can't find a lobby and then try again (some people usually leave after a match ends, freeing up space for others in case the lobby is full)
- if you still can't find others, host your own lobby and start playing (this way, people in similar situation can join you)
- if you can't do much alone in your hosted lobby, try lowering the difficulty if possible, then increasing it after people join

Let me know if you still can't find people, I'll check it myself and help find out if it's a network problem on your end or people have just stopped playing. Good luck!

Hi,

I've tried everything you listed there, but no joy, apart from finding max 1 other person playing. Today I also tried connecting to different regions of the world by a VPN, but same, lobbies seem empty.

It's been almost 2 weeks now and not managed to find a full 4 people party. That's a bit sad I think, MP just seems dead.

What other things could be to try?
Does it matter if I have all DLCs ?

It might be the time of day your playing. I come back to DAI Multiplayer ever few months or so and sure finding games is slow but i always almost always find one. You can add me if you want. Shoot me a game invite anytime if i'm around and not doing anything else I have no problem playing a few games.

Hi,

I think I fixed it... Managed to play 2 days now with few people each time.

As I mentioned I play on Origin and have the "classic" version (not Game of the Year Edition). I had to download 2 Multiplayer add-ons (through Origin in add-ons tab). Once them installed, lobby seems to work as it should.

I hope that was the problem.

Yes you figured out the issue. FREE Multiplayer DLC means EVERYONE will get it and then if you dont you wont find people in lobbies because you dont fit requirements of like 99.98% of players. Definitely download the 2(TWO) Multiplayer DLC's. Its like playing a different game version without both of them.

I dont expect this to get an answer until later but - if i have game of the year edition, does my friend also need GOTY to play multiplayer with me???

Nope but he should buy Game of the Year edition anyway, i mean for 5-6e you get 3 great DLCs, plus some cosmetics. even if he own just Base game its worth buying game again with all DLCs

Hi guys. I Bought DAI few days ago and tried to launch it. So i got ethernal loading "connection with server". As i understood first launch must be online, but what I should do if its impossible to go online because of ethernal connection? Are there any solutions ? (Ive already googled it)
