I do have Origins downloaded, and have both uninstalled and reinstalled Origin.
When I click play on Steam, Origin comes up. It has a bar that fills up, then the popup disappears, and both Steam and Origin divert back to the 'press play' that you get before you try to launch the game.
So, it seems to not launch. I don't get any error messages or anything that would indicate why the game won't launch when I click play on either Steam OR Origin.
Also from what I've seen on these forums it can take ages or never to find a helpful assistant, so if I were to recommend the best thing, is to refund. If you'd like to go back to it I'd just buy it for the origin launcher instead.
I've also tried starting it from the Origin app, same results.
So, I'm going for a refund. Even at 6 bucks, no point in having a game you can't play.
I also checked the integrity, ran as administrator, started it in origin and nothing.
+1
1.- Uninstall Origin
2.- Run the game from Steam
3.- Install Origin from the game.
4.- Ready to play.
PS: Do not disable "Enable Origin in game".
Gonna try this now...i hope this works, as my refund request for this game was denied by Steam, because the OTHER game Mass Effect Andromedia that i purchased along with it, did work so i played it more than 2 hrs.....give me a fkn break STEAM!!! My time on DAI is 4 minutes, and that's from all the Fails on Launch i had throughout the day yesterday trying to get it to Launch. What a mess!
Update: Uninstalled Origin, went to Steam, Launched game.....game reinstalled Origin. Still won't Launch....not getting the 'Missing DLL' error, but the game just closes within about 3 seconds of trying to launch it.

just redownloaded Visual C++ and installed.
relaunched the Dragon Age Inquisition game, and it freakin worked. Hope this helps others get their game working too!
In case it helps anyone a year later, this worked for me but I think, ultimately, the issue was that I'd disabled "Enable Origin in game".
I tried the same thing with DA2. It took ages to start, but it did eventually start up. It gave some error about running out of cloud storage space, so I guess it was uploading my saves. Which sucks because I don't want cloud saves, but I can't see a way to turn them off.
Start up the EA client, go to the toolbar and set it to 'Offline' mode. Do the same with Steam client. Then when you launch the games, they won't be doing 'cloud saving.' I should say... 'shouldn't be doing it. With steam, you can ofc open a games properties and set the 'cloud sync' to disabled. But, with the EA client... supposedly you can't disable it... although, I suspect there maybe some way by changing some code lines in the client's files maybe. I still use Origin and not messing with that crapware they're calling the EA client for as long as I can get away with it. So... I'm not certain of it but, if I'm forced into using it... I'll be cracking open every bit of code I can on that junk of a client.
