Will I lose Blackwall?

So, for too long he was my weakest party member who always died first. I suspected I am doing something wrong so I googled it and it seems I was building him wrong. I reset his stats and now he is even stronger than Cassandra. However, I was also googling on hot to romance him and I read something down the line that after you finish his quest you can allow him to join the Wardens. However, I am not sure if I do that quest I won't lose him as party member. I mean I put some decent gear on him and like him as character. Can someone confirm on that?

If I recall correctly he will join the Wardens only after you defeat Cory and also joins later in the last dlc as a warden.
