As in the one to open Masterwork locks? Any rogue can open them if they get the inquisition perk, if that's what you mean.
Thanks!!!
Honestly I rarely play mages in games like this, but it surprised me, how good a mage is in Inquisition. With my Amelia Trevelyan, a human mage, obviously, she was (I dare to say) quite OP at a far lower level, than my Alessa Trevelyan, human rogue. Both focus on ranged attacks from a fairly safe distance, but a bow and a firebal, that's pretty hard to compare. Of course there are other abilities, than offensive spells, which is, why I would recommend a mage as a support to Dorian and Solas. If you need a "bow", Varric or Sera are good enough for that. One simply can not have enough mages in the party.
All mages? No warrior for tanking?
Of course having a mage main character has it's drawbacks as well, you can't for example unlock cell doors to get stuff in Haven's dungeon (the 1st door on the left in the chantry near where Mother Giselle stands leads there).
And to Cole: yea, I misunderstood what you meant by "playing Assassin", I thought you talk about your main character, but you meant Cole himself. I was confused by the "play" part, because I mostly play my main, controlling the others only in times of need, which doesn't come very often. I usually take control of Sera for opening locks as my mage can't do that, but once she's at it, I switch back to Amelia (the mage-Inquisitor).
