Trials worth it?
You get randomized "special shipment" weapons leveled to your character, and only 2 schematics (shield and staff, I think). I'm not sure it's worth a replay of the DLC if you already have the cheevos.

The rewards are not the "best in slot" items you can use so if you have DLC and use the golden thingie to get schematics for the best gear on new games, yes reward-wise the trials are not worth it . Only for the challenge if that is of interest to you

there are some i feel you should have on at all times, like enemies being always leveled to you, otherwise the game becomes very very easy if you are even doing half of the optional stuff as you progress.

Sometimes you get Fade-touched crafting materials. But its very rare. Its easier to farm resource nodes

They more for challenge, replay, balance (like how Pen points out you can quickly be outleveling without it).

1 note the randomize enemies one that gives abilities, you 100% need dispel asap as even the 1st mages you encounter will mass Shield to point they will be invulnerable without it early on
(I still remember when I first used it and spent like 15minutes trying to kill 1st mage >_>)..

I've played through the game twice with all trials on and when ever I replay the game I always use

Even Ground
Walk Softly
Fair Weather Friends
Grizzly End

Don't think I could ever go back to a vanilla playthrough, most of the rewards i think are pish, but the chance of getting certain fade touched materials is worth it imo, like fade touched nevarrite, gurn hide and lurker scales are some of the hardest to farm because the area they're located is large and can be time consuming and a pain to farm

I was looking at those and they seem interesting, but right now every area I enter all the baddies are at my level and turning into damage spunges I just finished the deep roads and it took a awful long time to kill an alpha emmisary and 2 orgres. So my question is how are the trails more fun.

that particular issue/1 can be a bit of a issue but there are many trials that add way more or more situational.
Plus to many rather have same level long fights over being massively over leveled 1 shoting every enemy for 0 purpose.

Thanks for the response: I'll give it shot! Question, My current game, it seems my team is getting dumber as they get to higher levels. Example they forget to use healing potions, or run into battle despite me telling them to hold, it got so bad in the deep roads I just left them
behind and soloed after the ogres. So is this just the way it is or can i get a mod to fix this? Playing on hard, would like to try nightmare but not with these bozo's.

You can sort their behaviour in the Tactics screen, as well as potion usage.

For the harder parts, its always best to manage the party members for combo opportunities and placing. But melees will always charge, and you cant really manage it as much as in DAO when you can have specific skills and behaviours for party members
