PC control issues fixed?
Have been looking at this game for a while and see it is now on Steam and on sale. I played Dragon Age Origin and really enjoyed it and do not remember having any issues with the PC controls using only the mouse and keyboard.

But I watched this video and the author said the PC controls need fixing.

And do not tell me to use a mod or a controller to fix the problem he points out. My question is, have they been fixed with a patch and is his points valid? Thanks for any answers in advance.

No issues with k/m anymore, controls are different from before though. You move with WASD (or any equivalent) and autoattack works. The UI also differs between controller and k/m options to offer better navigation.

Thanks for answering! So are you saying all of his complaints have been fixed? For example, such as mouse look and selecting multiple party members all at the same time?, or mouse click to move, like it was in DAO?

I would recommend that you check out Intuitive Controls Mod for DAI. I didn't like the vanilla controls, especially for combat. This mod really improved it, and combat felt more like previous DA games.

Here is a video showing the changes.

Thanks! The video does show what should have been done for the PC controls before the game was released.

But I normally avoid using any mods in game, because they can cause corruption of saved games or make the game unplayable with some new patches for them.

Have you used this mod in the newly Steam launched version? I will check to see if it is available in the Steam Workshop.

Pleasure! Certain things have remained the same, for instance selecting multiple characters is still not possible. Regarding moving and combat style, the Tac Cam works very similarly to Origin as you can move clicking, move the camera with the mouse wheel and issue orders like auto attack.

Take a look at this video, here is with controller enabled where is paused by default, but can also be played in real time clicking the hourglass. The transition with mouse it's seamless, it just requires zooming out with the mouse.

Thanks! That looks very playable. I may get it, since I am in a hiatus for a RPG, while waiting for BG3 to be released.

Like others however, I am concerned about the Origin launch issues and the game not being playable in full screen mode ( hate windowed mode ). But you have at least settled my pc controls concerns.

Anytime mate, I'm glad it helped! It's also worth mentioning that you'll experience what you saw in the video at beginning, so you'll have enough time to decide if it's for you.

As for game launching problems take a look this post, seems to be the solution for most current technical problems: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1222690/discussions/0/2295094308084348306/

Hopefully you won't need to play it in windowed mode.

Unfortunately no, I played it on Origin about 8 months ago, along with about 8 other mods. My experience was quite ok - no save corruptions at all.

You can find this one nexusmods btw.. let me know if you need the link
