Performance issues?
I am considering buying the game but i noticed it has mixed reviews. Does the game have performance issues? For reference i have an i7 7700k 16gb of ram and a 1060 6gb.

Well, yes and no.
Your system itself is more then enough to run this game fluidly on VeryHigh/Ultra in 1080p.
1440p you would most likely need to lower some more settings.

But the Steam version did not run as well as the Origin one for me, which was the reason i refunded the game.
I had a lot of "lag" and micro stutters here that i dont have on Origin.
Dont know if its the 2 DRM on top of each other or the different overlays.
Dont even know if everyone has this problem. Just wanted to mention it.

But yeah, from your specs alone you are more then fine for this game. Its 6+ years old.

Is it true that they are gonna make it playable through steam?

I have an i7-9700k, RX 5700 XT, and 32gb of ddr4 3600 and I get like 160fps on max settings at 1440p. This game runs great.

So why all the mixed reviews?

Because people like to complain...Game of the year awards should be enough to show you the validity of a lot of those reviews.

Thx for clarifying

What about burnout and nfs rivals do those run well?

I'm getting 144 FPS easily at 1440p with all settings maxed out.
This is on a 1080TI. The game runs really great for me and the stuttering did occur for me, but it was easily fixed. I enabled triple buffering in the control panel as well as V-Sync and it never appeared again.
I've never experienced any freezes or crashing.
The optimisation is great in my opinion and it runs really smoothly.

I hope this answers your question!

Yes of course, what else would I be referring to?

I have 10 hours played currently and these are my results so far. These results may vary between players of course judging by the reviews, but some reviews did mention some issues that are quite easily fixed such as the crashing on startup for example.
My experience with the game has definetly been positive so far and I have no performance issues. The stuttering was the only issue that I encountered and that was really easy to fix.

Slight addendum to the maxed out setttings that I mentioned :
MSAA is set to off as that tanks performance immensely for no noteable gain. All other settings are set to their highest values.

How do you fix the crashes?

Are you referring to the crashes when starting the game?

These can be solved by adding the game to the exclusion list of your AV software.
It's and old issue that sadly has never been fixed. Some AV programmes see the game as a false positive and prevent the game from launching.
Some people mentioned that they just disabled their AV software entirely which is also an option, but not one that I would prefer.

I haven't encountered this issue myself, but a friend of mine has and this fixed it.
