How do you disable the Origin Overlay?
The requirement for using Origin is annoying, but it's not a deal breaker; if it turns out that I can't disable the overlay though, I'm getting a refund.

I logged into Origin normally, and set it to disabled; it's still enabled launching through Steam.
I tried to disable it after launching on Steam, but it has a little Lock symbol that says I can't disable it in "Restricted Mode."

Is there something I'm missing?

Looks like you have to start the game from the origin launcher, if you don't want the origin overlay.

It's ridiculous; Steam doesn't force you to use their overlay, origin doesn't force you to use the overlay, so why am I forced to use origin's overlay if I run the game through Steam?

This is frustrating, I think I'm going to get that refund now.

It's not just starting the launcher, it's starting a new launcher, so even if you try to have Origin configured in the background, launching from Steam starts a new process that doesn't let you change settings, and ignores any settings set with the already running launcher.

Even UPlay isn't this overbearing.

anyway, it's pretty silly to make us wait 6 hours to download it (my computer is not heavy) to have it on steam if i need to wait 6 more hours downloading it on origin lol
