Why are the romance partners so ugly in this game?

I know it's each of their own but even then, you can't tell me this isn't ugly. I mean just look at Iron Bull or Solas. I have never seen a perfectly egg shaped head like his. He looks literally like a egg with a face who as arms and legs. Cassandra looks like a dude. I loved the romantic stories in most BioWare games but this one isn't much appealing. Not sure how is it for you guys.

EDIT: I know that this topic is subjective but I didn't mean it in that way. I meant that both Iron Bull and Solas didn't look realistic to me. Of cours in real life, there is nothing really "ugly" each has its own beauty. But I'm talking about the game not real life.

I liked Josephine and Cullens romances.
Solas is actually one of the best written romances with implications for the main story, but you have to be a female elf because he wont date any other race.

Sera is also a pretty good romance but you have to be ok with her "special" personality.
And some mods to change her look help too.

Never had any interest in Dorian, Iron Bull or Cassandra.

Well the thing with Solas makes sense if you have played the DLC but it's still a bummer
Sera is amazing but I agree that something is off with her model
Dorian has quite some funny dialogue and the part where he trys to earn his fathers acceptance was pretty heartbreaking
Cassandra is pretty bland at times but yet again that is also due to stroy reasons
I can not remember anything about Iron Bull or Blackwall so yeah...

Dorian does look good but he is a male/gay romance option only so never played that romance.
Blackwell would be ok too if it was not for that hideous fake looking beard that looks like someone glued a goats ass to his face.
The Frostbyte engine can create absolute beautiful landscapes ( was the same in Andromeda) but character models often look "off" , especially the hair/beards.

Well, Dorian is complete eye candy. The rest of them seem more unusual in appearance but I absolutely don't mind it. I'm kinda fed up by this thing games do......means creating whole harems of stunning supermodels with zero personality, that swarm the player character for apparently no reason. People aren't always good looking in real life, most are complete average or up to taste. They only become good looking to you when you start falling in love with their personality. So maybe its just me personally, but I'm fine with bald men or bull - crossbreeds as long as they aren't comically ugly or unbearable to be with.

Hm. Didn't feel like that to me. I thought their personalities are fine. Maybe because I can compare to some VNs and most of those will never find their equal in horrible characters. However, most of the dating choices In DAI really aren't that bad looking. I think there are (or were) mods around that basically put some hair on Solas. Google it - its a complete transformation. The only characters that I can't dig at all are Sera and Cullen. Cullen because he feels boring to me and Sera because she seems more of a sidekick than an actual romance choice. But that comes down to their personalities mostly.

The potential partners are fine. You've been consuming too much Photoshop products, I am afraid. I mean, it's your problem but stop insulting good characters. Players love them and you're the only one who's complaining.

They're not ugly, Your taste is just ATROCIOUS. They're awesome and attractive characters. The very minor flaws in their appearance make them look more human. Stop looking exclusively at anime supermodels and the barbie & ken dolls in korean mmos.

I play a lot of visual novels and read a lot of web novels, so my standards for fleshed out characters are pretty low, and DAI's character's still bug me; I usually make it a point of playing solo just to avoid them.

For example; Solas is probably the deepest character, but he's thousands of years old and still without nuance.

Dorian's alright though.
