Are you even real ?
Hot Pursuit also somehow supports ultrawide 21:9 without issue (guessing due to racing games supported 3x1080p back then).
And partly because of that, I don't think I'm every going back to a modern NFS game. They're dumbed down for kindergartners who can't understand what's happening.
Hot Pursuit is awful for Solo playing, it has literally no story, you are just switching from Cop and Racer and grind to unlock cars.
As for the rest of recommendations, majority of them are not even sold anymore on Steam. Story wise and for solo you have to pick between Payback or Heat OP.
Will take semi-realistic racing mechanics and AI over NFS Heat (worse than any arcade racing game at Dave&Busters or Nickel Nickel) anyday of the week.
Numbers speak volume and for refference Heat (2019) compering it with HP 2010 + Remastered (2020), Heat on Steam has 25x more players even combined. (btw the 2010 version is split from the 2020, while on the plus side the 2020 has crossplay as is Heat)
The core of a driving game is the driving.
Personally GRID 1 and 2 from that era are massively better due to the driving. But OP wants to stick to NFS games. I'd also highly recommend NFS Most Wanted, but the actual driving and AI already began NFS's famous stupidification.
Thanks for the suggestion guys ! And i won't mind trying other license for racing game. I wanted to try Crew 2 but my computer was too old and now it isn't continued ? I heard Forza is kindda good, maybe with a motorcycle game like TT Isle of Man and Ride ? And when looking for a good solo playing game for mainly the story, seems like almost every racing games story kindda suck ? So i guess i should focus with the gameplay and a lil side of story if possible.
Honestly the big few racing games I'd recommend for older machines are GRID1/2 and Dirt3. They all have fairly realistic driving mechanics and AI, and no rubberbanding (where if you are slow, opponents drive slower/more reckless, and if you drive well, opponents drive much better and often get an acceleration boost). They even have working detailed interior cockpit view!
Might not have the best story though.
Horizon is a live service game, meaning it's bloated with content and overwhelms you. It drives great, has tons of cars (700), and when I'm not into Heat, I switch to Horizon 5. It does not have NOS; instead, the gimmick is rewind/flashback 5 sec. And it is the most popular open-world car game on Steam. Driving is more enjoyable than the action-packed NFS series. It's not sim-like, but Horizon is a beast of a game, 180GB with top-notch graphics.
You also have Grid Legends because you can't buy Grid 1 or Asphalt, due to Codemasters. It's not an open-world game; it's a motorsport game, and it's great, not too grindy, with a story (that's kind of cringe, as the kids say). If you don't have Grid, you should have it; it's a good series.
But for a pure driving experience, rally games are your friend. And if you have an older rig, then Dirt Rally 2.0 since you might not be able to run the new EA WRC (which also has tons of optimization issues that they are fixing).
