Controls not working right

Today i installed NFS heat after a long time of not playing the game and when i entered the game first thing is i couldnt use dpad on my wheel G29... to select settings. when i entered game i got welcomed with pedals not working and throttle and brakes mapped on r2 and l2. and when i finally got into settings the contoller mapped was a Xbox contoller layout.

same thing for me today, tried using my wheel and pedals and didnt work i spent over an hour and half trying to sort it but no luck. thought this game allowed wheel and pedals, what a load of ball

I've done my research and still nothing nfsh newest update has messed up everything for steering wheel players doesn't matter if its a thrust-master or Logitech all forums still say nothing has changed I've looked at post even from 2019 and there hasn't been a fix

yeah, devs in this day of age have no clue what thier doing and dont care about thier games or the people playing then. the longer games are out the worse they get

Need for speed 2016 fully support g29. Refund this and buy that.

would if i could i have this game for a long time but i installed it after like 3 months of not playing it and this happened

Have you tried disabling Steam input so the game can see the devices natively?

dont think its steam, steam doesnt reconize my wheel but ets2 works and so does taxi life sim. its the game, if the game has full wheel and pedals support then it should work like ets2 and taxi life but need for speed heat has had some sort of issue and now it doesnt work so it doesnt have full support for wheel and pedals on pc version as i can play it on my p5 with the wheel also dont exspect this to get fixed, its an early game and devs dont care about the condition of it or us that still like to enjoy rolling around so dont get your hopes up that this will get fixed because it probs wont be

Steam Deck - Win 11 Pro. I have a different issue. Controls work, but, randomly goes unresponsive. I can be driving and suddenly the car will turn by itself and I can't control it for maybe 5-10 seconds. Using analogue stick, some times this bug can be triggered if I gently tap 'left, right, left, right' etc. Often times it just does it on it's own, which makes racing almost impossible. I will test this on my desktop to see if it happens there.
