Game Fails to launch due to "GPU does not support DirectX 11.0 which is required"

Tried to launch NFS Heat a few days ago for the first time after maybe about half a year. I've already played through the game once before on this same laptop with no issues. Now when I try to launch, I get a window that says:

"Your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for playing this game.

AMD Radeon RX 6800M GPU does not support DirectX 11.0 which is required"

After clicking "OK" which is the only option available to me, the game auto-closes.

I have DirectX 12 which is supposed to be backwards compatible with DirectX 11.

I've tried the -dx11 trick with no luck. I've tried adding the application and all associated *.exe files from both the EA launcher and NFS Heat itself to the DXCpl list of applications and limited them to DirectX 11 and still no luck. I've tried launching the game in compatibility mode. No luck. The same issue continues to occur.

Has anyone else faced this and been able to resolve it?

what cpu do you have? This reminds me of the issue with 13 and 14th gen intel (yes, that error message pointed to the gpu too)

Hi @Joreck! Thank you for the response. This is my current CPU. I have a full AMD system:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz

This is the same laptop I was using previously when the game worked without issue. It leads me to believe that this was caused by a software update issue from either AMD, EA, or Windows in the time between when I was last able to launch the game and now

Ended up fixing this by reinstalling windows. Less than ideal. But now everything is working as expected. Not sure what the root of the error was in the end. I imagine it was windows related since I had already re-installed both steam and ea several times.
