Game Crashes On Launch After Brief Black Screen
Can anyone please save me from this curse? I have tried everything and looked everywhere for answers with no definitive conclusions. Does anyone else have this problem? Or did yall just refund after getting through this? I really do not want to refund this game as I am a big NFS fan, but this issue is really starting to kick the piss out of me.

EA has not been helping threads out there; mostly came with basic answers such as 'oh have you restarted your computer'? 're-installing origin' 'reinstalling the game' etc.

Pretty disappointed on a AAA title for having this kind of issue.

I run a pretty decent spec that ran many games without any issues:

i5 6600k - Overclocked
16gb RAM
1060 6GB

Ok guys I've found the fix. Go to your Nvidia control panel > Manage 3D Settings > Go To Program Settings > Add (Need For Speed Heat) > and change the Vertical Sync to Adaptive (Half Refresh Rate) > and click Apply. Solved it for me, no more crashing, and stuff.

Hopefully this can help other users out there.
Here is a link to a video that helped:

I'm having the same problem but since I was able to play the game for about 18 hours. I was not able to get a refund for the game. I have no idea what is causing the problem. I even did the Nvidia control panel, and that also didn't work for me. I guess I will just wait for an update to come out to fix the issue. Maybe in like 2022 or something.

Suddenly having this issue too after 12 hours of playing and owning it for a few weeks. What the heck is happening.

It's kinda sad really as I want to enjoy the online experience of the game franchise I am in love with since childhood, but couldnt. I found the fix yesterday with the adaptive half refresh rate, but after closing the game after the intro scene, I couldn't get it to launch anymore; worse yet, it doesn't even appear in the task manager. I might get a refund if by tomorrow I still cant find any fix and go for the dodi repack (people say it works flawlessly).

Ffs I made external gpu work with a laptop that was an older generation (and no i no longer use that) and THAT was a much easier labour than getting this bloody game to work.

Pretty sure I've never installed Dolby Vision in my PC. I do though, have Dolby Atmos. But at the time of testing the game, I had Dolby Atmos turned off.

OKAY guys. So none of the answers above has fixed my issue. But I did find the fix.

This might work for me, but it is not a guarantee to work for you.

So here goes:

Before you do this, it is important to check that your windows and GPU driver is up to date. (but this may not be an issue). You may also want to do a clean boot, but I doubt this is the primary act of fix - but do it anyway, you get to get rid of a few useless gunk from your pc that way.

- Go to NFS Heat.exe from your install directory, and right click > Properties.
- Under Compatibility, you want the check:
-- Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 8 (if you're using Windows 10)
-- Disable Full-Screen optimisations.
-- Run this program as an administrator.

and that's it.

You may still need to change the vsync options in the Nvidia control panel for NFS Heat to "Adaptive Half Refresh Rate".

You DO NOT NEED TO:
- Disable steam overlay or any overlay of any kind.
- Use NVIDIA colour settings from the control panel.
- Disable any sort of other stuff.
- Redownload nvidia Studio driver (like EA said to do in one of its threads)

I did not test with a Dolby Vision because i do not have access to one.

And lastly, ALWAYS run the exe manually (you can pin to start or whatever) and NEVER from steam or origin.

This method fixes my issue where the game does not launch and does not appear in the task bar when launching from steam.

I hope this can help any one else who has this issue (albeit not too many of you guys apparently).

If issue still persist, then you can either verify game integrity, try the things I listed as DO NOT NEED TO DO, and if nothing else works, I hope you've had the game for less than 2 weeks and played less than 2 hours, and then just head straight to the refund section.

my fix was getting up the memory that the game eats cause it was limited at like 1151 mb and raised it to minimum 2351 and the maximum 3671 or something like that i dont remember right anyways and i updated the radeon drivers and the windows
What helped for me was just disconnecting anything other than my main monitor and mouse. Just disconnect everything.
