1. Check System Requirements: Make sure your PC meets the minimum and recommended system requirements for Need for Speed Heat. Running a game on lower specs than required can cause performance issues, including random shutdowns.
2. Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues and lead to crashes.
3. Monitor Temperatures: Use monitoring software to check the temperature of your CPU and GPU while playing the game. Overheating can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage. Ensure that your PC is adequately cooled and free from dust.
4. Power Supply Unit (PSU): A failing or inadequate power supply can cause random shutdowns, especially when the system is under heavy load. Consider checking the PSU's health and capacity.
5. Check for Software Conflicts: Disable background applications and overlays that may interfere with the game. Antivirus software, in particular, can sometimes cause conflicts with games.
6. Verify Game Files: If the game files are corrupt or incomplete, it can lead to crashes. Verify the integrity of the game files through the Steam.
7. Run System Stability Tests: Use software like Prime95 or FurMark to stress test your CPU and GPU separately. This can help identify if hardware components are causing the shutdowns.
8. Check Event Viewer**: Look for any error messages or critical events in the Windows Event Viewer around the time of the shutdown. This may provide clues about the cause.
9. Update Windows**: Make sure your operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, system updates can address compatibility issues.
By systematically troubleshooting and eliminating potential causes, you may be able to identify the root of the issue causing the random shutdowns while playing Need for Speed Heat.
I run
RTX 3060 12gb
ryzen 5 3600xt Overclocked
b550-f gaming
3200mhz 32 gb ram
NVME 1tb
Also, if you have overclocked GPU, RAM or CPU try to restore to default frequency and see if it solves. Sometimes if your component is not stable enough at overclocked frequencies it would crash the system.
My psu is like 1 year old and its a 800W, so more than enough for this. I think the game is just very poorly optimized
Yeah same I lowered the settings ingame and it helped, weird that this doesnt happen in any other game ive played...
Choose your cores and threads from the vedio description
And while I play my pc is being squeezed out, and yet in 4 hours of gameplay has never crashed.
If anyone is wandering, I get from 50 fps to 100 average. The lows when in grassy environments for its sharpening.
