Arrested by cops at night = NO XP ?
Hey,

I'm new to the game.
I just spent 2 hours at night doing races and collecting a few things, and I decided to play a little bit with the cops before I quit. I reached heat lvl 5, it was fun but after a while the cops destroyed my car (hard to evade with 132 rating).

So, it seems that all the XP I gained just disappeared ?
That's tough, evading the cops isn't that easy with a bad car !

Yes that's how the game works, and you lose some cash as fine too IIRC. The night races are indeed high risk high reward activities.

Rule of thumb, don't bother with Heat level 3+ cops until you at least have a 300 rating car. By the time you have a 400+ car, you can even outrun level 5 cops relatively easily.

Remember there is no safety net during night roaming and you will only reach an ever higher heat level by sticking around longer. Once you've pushed your current car to the limit you won't be able to handle the next level of cop cars. Return to a garage ASAP so you don't lose your accumulated progress.

Thanks for your reply !

One problem : Sometimes the cops chase you during the night races, and if I remember correctly, they keep chasing you after the race (maybe I'm wrong).
Is there an easy trick to evade ? With a low rated car, they're faster than me, so I guess I just have to be lucky (if they miss a turn for instance)

Yes they will chase you whether you're in or outta the race. It's only logical cuz the cops won't care if there's a street race going on or you're just high speed 'cruising', you're breaking the law in their eyes either way.

Using ramps to escape is your best chance once you're getting out-leveled. Try to stick to those at the freight port, lots of wide straights and diagonal streets to keep running in circles till you can catch a break. Still the ramps can take you so far cuz eventually there will be police choppers with search light and an under-powered car will have nowhere to hide.

yea dont go past heat 3 untill your sure you can handle it, a good way to ditch the cops also is to know your way back to the speedway, get inside and just go around the track cops dont know what to do when they get in there and will stop chasing you halfway around also the porat area with all the cargo containers if your close get onto a container with a jump or just go around in circles.

Yeah the cops don't mess around in this game. Which would be fine if the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage system actually worked correctly and you could reliably deal or avoid damage.

It's actually not bad once you've access to the upgrades.

Yes it is, I don't know what game you've been playing but the damage in this game is very inconsistent. If anything I think it's gotten worse after reaching PI 400+.

Hey,

Just to give some news :
I'm now level 50, with all parts unlocked (Ultimate and Ultimate+ included) :D

I'd like to say that cops are hard when you begin, so you really have to avoid them and to end the night as soon as you reach heat 2 or 3.
But once I got a ~300 car, I think I never got caught again. With a 350+ car it's pretty easy because you're just faster than them. I did all the U/U+ grind without difficulty.

Congrads. So everything went according to plan after all.
