Rule of thumb, don't bother with Heat level 3+ cops until you at least have a 300 rating car. By the time you have a 400+ car, you can even outrun level 5 cops relatively easily.
Remember there is no safety net during night roaming and you will only reach an ever higher heat level by sticking around longer. Once you've pushed your current car to the limit you won't be able to handle the next level of cop cars. Return to a garage ASAP so you don't lose your accumulated progress.
One problem : Sometimes the cops chase you during the night races, and if I remember correctly, they keep chasing you after the race (maybe I'm wrong).
Is there an easy trick to evade ? With a low rated car, they're faster than me, so I guess I just have to be lucky (if they miss a turn for instance)
Using ramps to escape is your best chance once you're getting out-leveled. Try to stick to those at the freight port, lots of wide straights and diagonal streets to keep running in circles till you can catch a break. Still the ramps can take you so far cuz eventually there will be police choppers with search light and an under-powered car will have nowhere to hide.
Yes it is, I don't know what game you've been playing but the damage in this game is very inconsistent. If anything I think it's gotten worse after reaching PI 400+.
Just to give some news :
I'm now level 50, with all parts unlocked (Ultimate and Ultimate+ included) :D
I'd like to say that cops are hard when you begin, so you really have to avoid them and to end the night as soon as you reach heat 2 or 3.
But once I got a ~300 car, I think I never got caught again. With a 350+ car it's pretty easy because you're just faster than them. I did all the U/U+ grind without difficulty.
