If even that doesn't help, then you'll have to play the game and master controls.
In general, I'd say, no need to slow down into making turns, just use your handbreak properly, and don't be affraid to smash a lamp or two; It doesn't slow you down or damage you whatsoever in this game.
As for spinning, that'll be your car's setup fault.
To prevent your car from spinning, do give up on upgrading your car with Drift parts and focus more on On-Road and Race parts.
Thing is, you may want your car to get some Drift parts installed, so you'll be able to make some .. turns.
Traffic is kinda tricky, but if they're your problem, then that's onto you.
Do master controls and come back.
Neither of you read my post in its entirety. I SAID I had it tuned for road and race spec and you tell me to do that which means you both ignored me when I said that.
It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you said no need to slow down. My car will not turn unless I slow down. Opponents cars do not have to slow down, they can make a 90 degree turn at 60, 70 MPH. As I said, I cannot make the turn going 30 MPH
Your "suggestions" are invalid because I already said I did some of the things you told me to do and then you not only tell me that I do not need to do something that I clearly need to do which is still not enough, but you also tell me to put it on a difficulty setting that does not even exist.
There's quite a bit to cover. This is the first racing game I got into, and I learned a lot about driving! I think the 4 main things to think about when cornering are
Generally for vehicle weight, I've noticed that smaller cars tend to corner more easily. The first car I bought was a Mazda RX-7 because of a certain anime about tofu delivery. Turns out it's one of the smallest cars in the game. After Googling, it seems the RX-7 and the Porsche RSR are considered some of the best cars because of their agility. They can easily turn and go from 0-100 with just basic controls and don't need the best engine.
For engine type, I've found that the V engines tend to be harder to turn with. Did a bit more Googling and I learned that V engines tend to raise the car's center of gravity so they're less balanced, whereas Flat or I engines are more balanced. That seems to be a thing in NFS Heat too. When I first put on a V8 I was like, whoa this is fast, but the car definitely felt stiffer. That said, there's usually a tradeoff in raw power since most cars can load a V engine with more cylinders than a Flat or I engine. If you're starting out you can try avoiding V engines till you get more used to the controls. Also keep an eye on the 0-60 and Torque, those are important for exiting corners.
For vehicle focus, going all the way to Race tends to make cornering hard. Again from Google, some people use Drift tyres to make cornering easier. Personally I use two On-Road parts and only one Track part, so I get somewhere in between the middle and Race. It gives the car a bit of slide for turning.
And finally there's corner type, which I'm admittedly still learning. Generally speaking, you'll want to aim for the inside of the corner when approaching, then when exiting, aim for the outer lane. The more lanes and the wider the curve, the faster you can be while going in. The less lanes and the sharper the angle, the more you need to slow down.
If there's more lanes and a wide angle in general, normal turning i.e. brake a bit and turn and gas works fine.
If there's a tight angle but a decent width, I go for a drift turn because it allows me to go into and out of a corner with more speed. Learning to drift turn was a game changer. I was like, whoa I can go into a sharp corner or hairpin sideways and then Nitro right back out 🤯. There's a story quest that teaches you how to drift turn.
For tight angles with few lanes, you can still try to drift turn but the timing is really tight. It needs some practice to get an idea of what's the right speed to reach when going into the corner and when to start the drift without crashing embarrassingly. For me I've found that generally I can turn easily if I approach at 110-ish MPH but sometimes I've managed 140, Ironically drift turning in tight corners seems easier with a heavier car, like a BMW i8 compared to the RX-7 because the RX-7 is so darn light. it really depends on the car and the driver's skill.
The control of cars will take some getting used to and the game's use of power slides>big grip corners. That first tutorial race took me a good 10-20 tries to get used to it, having not played a racing game since NFS carbon before this. Once you do figure it out, it is a lot of fun. Only advice i can give outside of finding the feel yourself is quick tapping the gas once on(before) a turn and counter steering left and right once you find the line.
Also living tuning, most of my cars have lowest downforce, traction control off and steering middle or 2-3 ticks right. When i first started the game was randomly having my traction control on and off on a few cars and was messing me up.
Upon opening the little UI, press Num. 6 to select a category.
I haven't even touched it as I feel no need to. It shouldn't be necessary to tune down your cars to win races.
I select 180SX as my first car and can't beat him in Dexterity Check Mission.
So I swap to Lancer Evo X without upgrade anything and beat him with 900m away from him.
You just have to find the car that fits you.
Then you find a right build for the car based on your driving style and the track you are racing on.
Outrun the cops? Just equip your car with an elite radar and damage repair elite, and you'll have easier time getting away.
I found my cars, and I love driving around with them, don't forget to live tune your car!
