What you can do is just find easy races that pay well and just keep repeating those until you have enough money for parts. You can totally beat the game in any starter vehicle, if you upgrade them. The only issue is that you have to race at night for Reputation levels in order to unlock better parts, but the same principle applies. Just find the easiest, highest paying races on the map and keep doing them. Then when you have enough money or unlocks, buy the new parts, then rinse and repeat the process. I'm only about 50 hours in and have already reached Max Reputation with the best parts unlocked, and the game has become a breeze.
The reason your car struggles is that opponents become harder every time you level up your Rep level, so you have to constantly upgrade your car, until you hit max.
I hope that helps, even if only a little.
You only unlock the parts by doing night stuff ?
Unfortunately yes. It is how the system is set up, day races are for cash, and night racing is to increase your Rep level which unlocks better parts the higher it is, but there are cops at night as well that will try to arrest you so you have to evade them for maximum Rep.
I play singeplayer mostly. I prefer my pause on the fly. But thanks for the help. Nice doggo btw:)
