When do you buy new cars or upgrade?
I am level 12 and using the starting bmw. I am starting to strugle to win races, my car rating is still fairly even with the race rating. But the number 1 car is always miles ahead and I cant keep up with him. Mean while the rest of the field is getting lapped by me. I can't upgrade my car because I dont have the required level yet, but I cant seem to win any races in my current car rating cause that number one car in the race is always miles ahead.

Am i suppose to just keep racing and slowly gain levels so I can unlock the better parts or are you suppose to buy new cars that are faster then your current one. Last Need for speed i played that had tuning was the 2005 most wanted and if i remember correctly you could just upgrade your starter car fairly often.

Any help or tips ?

What you can do is just find easy races that pay well and just keep repeating those until you have enough money for parts. You can totally beat the game in any starter vehicle, if you upgrade them. The only issue is that you have to race at night for Reputation levels in order to unlock better parts, but the same principle applies. Just find the easiest, highest paying races on the map and keep doing them. Then when you have enough money or unlocks, buy the new parts, then rinse and repeat the process. I'm only about 50 hours in and have already reached Max Reputation with the best parts unlocked, and the game has become a breeze.

The reason your car struggles is that opponents become harder every time you level up your Rep level, so you have to constantly upgrade your car, until you hit max.

I hope that helps, even if only a little. :furrydoggo:

You only unlock the parts by doing night stuff ?

Unfortunately yes. It is how the system is set up, day races are for cash, and night racing is to increase your Rep level which unlocks better parts the higher it is, but there are cops at night as well that will try to arrest you so you have to evade them for maximum Rep.
