NFS Heat's Handling model.
Hey yall, I've been playing quite a bit of racing games lately, TC1, TC2, FH4 and I'm really interested in NFS heat. So to anyone who's played the crew games and Forza horizon games, does the handling model lean more towards the crew games or more towards Forza horizon games?

Absolutely Not.
I played all games having 1000+ hours of TC2 and 500+ hours of FH4, currently playing Heat. TC2 handling is more of an arcade racing, FH4 is some kinda realistic one.
But NFS HEAT has different car handling model, leaning more towards drift mechanics around corners. Here are two options in this game to drift: Brake to drift or Gas to drift.
This means, if you choose Brake to drift, say, while cruising in 200mph and suddenly you want to turn left without losing much speed, you need to steer left and tap Brake few times, and then the car will undergo a drifting and hence it will turn. Same goes for Gas to drift(tap Accelerate to drift). It also has steering sensitivity which you should keep maximum for most of the cars so that you can turn the car faster without losing much speed. It solely depends on person to person and their way of driving.

You have to change these settings from Live Tuning for each and every car, exclusively. Just exit from garage and in free roam, press 6 and press 2 in numpad to go to live tuning option. This is for PC.

Hope this will help you :)

Thanks for the answer! can't wait to dive in! Are other strategies like racing lines and all this viable? Just curious

It leans more towards Big Rigs actually, only with a lot of wheelspin.

The handling here is pretty unique I think. Basically you let off the gas briefly and turn to drift around corners, only need brakes occasionally when going too fast. Takes a minute to get used to compared to other games, but once you do I found it pretty fun. Definitely super arcadey even compared to TC2, and zero simulation

Thanks for all the answers yall. I got into it and there's quite a big learning curve for me. All that being said it's an awesome game!

Just remember 3 things:

1. Wheelspin bad.
2. Drifting good.
3. Ghost can't program manual transmission at all, so no shame in using automatic in this case.
