Is Origin still required for NFS Heat?
Last time the NFS games went on sale I was unable to play because of Origin (I don't have an EA account, and I didn't really want to make one with due to all the information EA wanted)
Is Origin still needed to play a steam-bought game?

As it says directly on the steam page:

Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required.
Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account)

kind of wish you didn't need origin or I would buy in a heart beat.
I can say similar
I will never understand why origin should be needed for a steam game....

Because of EA.

You say you don't want to create an Origin account because of all of the Information they want. It's the exact same information Steam, Google, Facebook, etc has so what difference does it make? (Email, DOB, Country)

When they asked for my email password, I noped out. The fact that it is EA already had me on guard

Umm, email password? Unless I'm misunderstanding something here Origin most definitely does not ask for the password to your email.

You are right, I meant that EA wanted my password. You see, I have neither an EA account nor and Origin account, so when I went to play NFS, it complained about me not having an origin account, and when I went to get an origin account, it wanted me to get an EA account. I read the terms and conditions (because I don't trust EA). Hidden in the terms and conditions was that EA could have my password.

My bad for messing it up, my failed attempt to play NFS happened last year (I cannot remember a specific date).
Sorry

he don't have a clue about what password he is talking about, EA dammn sure is not asking for any kind of password i guess steam is a problem for him also cause you have to make a password for this account also.

To be exact, when I went to make an EA account, I read the terms and conditions, in the terms and conditions you did have to give EA access to your email password.
This was about 1 or 2 years ago so my memory is not perfect.

The reason I went to make an EA account is because I tried to play NFS, (not Heat, it was the 2016/2015 NFS) it asked me to make an Origin account, and Origin wanted me to make an EA account.

It was access to my email account password that was outlined in the terms and conditions....

Neither EA or Origin has ever asked for my email password. I think what is confusing you is that you use your email as your sign in to EA/Origin, however you then make a new password to go with that sign in. No legit service will ever ask you for your email password.

For as true as that is, I don't imagine EA as a legitimate service
If I were to read through the terms and conditions again and find that I misunderstood something, then I would just admit I was wrong and move on. It is possible that I was wrong, but I was somewhat fed up and sus on EA after I needed to make two accounts just to play a game. I gave up making either accounts and just refunded it.

Well generally I don't like having to go thru 2 services to play a game either but I found that Origin will not let you download a game that they claim requires win 10 if you have win 7. So between the fact that Steam will let you download it and had a great sale price and I already had an Origin account I bit the bullet and bought the game on Steam. It works without a hitch.
