As for repetitivity, there's a lot of songs. From what I know this game have biggest tracklist of all NFS games. But it splitted for different scenarios, so there's like 10-15 songs for day race, 10-15 for free roam, 10-15 for night race and etc.
I do the same for most racing games anyway
It's not only about tastes, but how music mix with rest of the game. And in that regard they did a good job.
Sure it wouldn't fit as nicely but the soundtrack in this game is very very poor. Specially the day time tunes, those really wreck the radio. I wasn't saying the MW soundtrack fit this game, I was saying the quality difference in both games is very noticeable (While MW's fit that game perfectly, in Heat we just want to turn off the radio)
But I'm don't focus on music much, since it is in the background now. Maybe that's the reason many people don't like it. In 15 y.o. NFS it was the drive core, but now the sound design changed, engine sound is much louder than music, and driving requires more concentration.
Dunno, I see it that way, thoug I'm yet to play the Payback, and people say it has better sountrack. Didn't played that kind of games for a long time, and in racing sims music is evil.
I wish I could go to Miami to visit it one day, It has always been one of my dream travels since I was a kid.
Out of curiosity, why do you hate it so much?
