They aren't. 7 and Vista as basically the same, just 7 had a diet and a UI clean-up.

7 is missing some crucial functions, even with all the optional updates. A number of things changed under the hood and supporting newer techniques and optimizations can easily break Windows 7 compat. while leaving 8/8.1 still usable.

Has anyone tried this on Windows 7? Have to admit I'm tempted (even though I still have Underground 1 and 2 installed right now) but I'd rather that I can confirm it runs before buying it, you know? Apparently Heat runs on Win7; you just have to trick the Origin client into letting you run the game. No idea if that's still an issue in the Steam version. Asking before buying.

I bought it directly via origin bc steam wasn‘t available then:
Yes it works with the video tutorial and the game runs fine with one exception:
For me graphics sometimes go rainbow in some areas and you can‘t see anything than pink or green.
But still playable.

im running the game in full graphics mode its amazing and the same as the ps4 verison well with more graphic options lol

Had 8.1 on my previous tower, but when i took over another pc with a better processor it had 7. Is what it is.

I have had nothing but bad experiences on Win10 including issues that prevented games from running properly, or at all. None of those issues were present on this same hardware running Win7. 'Nuff said.

But that's not the purpose of this thread.
