They should rather focus on engaging gameplay and keep the graphic level.
Sims 4 however regressed and should have landed in the PS4 generation, this is the level I am personally very comfortable with.
I dislike the overly stylistic style most indie devs use and therefore am less interested in Paralives than InZOI. Sims 4 is still tolerable, but I only play it because of Mods anyways.
The life simulation genre is definitely underdeveloped and needs more competition.
Sims 4 does offer engaging systems though, they are just gatekept behind high DLC prices. Therefore I hope EA is wary that customers like us would like to buy their DLCs, but cant afford that right now and offers us an affordable bundle.
Otherwise we can get dragged away by indie developers and other studios.
As I said I dont think InZOI looks boring because of the graphics but because there is no engaging content. I havent played the game either.
There are much more informations to know about Sims 4 development, current Sims projects and EAs conglomerate policy. I can lay out some of them or other commenters if you ask specific questions.
I will always reply to comments that need more informations, I dont ignore people easily.
