Should i buy whole thing from ea or steam?
Hello everyone, had questions here. If i play on steam am i able to still use the gallery and the mod folder? Im actually can't decide which platform i should buy, because on steam they always had sale price unlike the ea but the question i still want to know is, do i still able to access to modding and the gallery or not

Sorry for silly question but i need advice from you guys who knew this quite well and sry for my broken English

Yes!

Also, stick to your final decision. Don't cross-purchase DLC, meaning don't buy DLC from here AND from EA App/Origin. EA's service is horrible and players routinely complain about cross-purchased DLC missing from their game or Library.

Does that make sense?

You mean just buy from steam right? got it but i though you can't do such thing as like that buying dlc from cross platform, of course that will a chance of some risk

With this game you can. It's supposed to work 100% but it doesn't always and it is a lot of stress to fix it.

So buy from Steam alone or buy from EA App alone.

I started buying on EA App so that's where I buy and play.

I recommend buying from Steam over EA app. EA app seems to have consistent patching issues based on what i see people say on youtube or the sims forums. Steam is steam, so if it works for you fine then it will patch sims 4 fine. The EA app will still open when you play sims 4, but the game does all its patching through steam rather than the EA app.

@TheLivingDarkness i see thanks for the info i just had thought the modder on sims 4 will be a lot harder to access or even can't play with any mod

Mods work just fine with the steam client, in fact I stand by my statement, I didnt take any precautions with updating my game and deleting my cache or mods for years. I still dont delete my mods when an update happens however I will delete my cache.

Yeah, I think it doesn’t matter. I purchased all my DLC from Steam and never had any issue with it. My friend purchased her DLC from EA and don’t have any issues beside the problems which EA APP has sometimes. I just preference it that my games are all in one platform.

As the other mentioned above the only difference is that you need to run two apps, if this bothers you just purchase it on EA APP.

OMG yes, EA App is bad. BUY FROM STEAM! PLEASE! Lol!

So many simmers complain about corrupt game files and have to reinstall their whole game after installing new DLC or patching! It's ridiculous!

If I bought an expansion pack on EA how do I get it to link with my Steam account?

Once you get Steam set up with the EA app, it's easier to log in with steam. EA app alone makes you enter your password.

Go steam. Don't buy everything. I wouldn't buy spa day or wedding stories and I don't see a point in mermaids - the only reason I might want Mermaids is the tan line feature.
