My advice if you get For Rent do not go beyond the normal limit of 6 units on a residential rental lot. It might corrupt an entire saved game. This would mean you would need 33 residential rental lots at least (assuming that every lot has 6 units) to make up for this; although, it could be argued as well than the limit of 99 is more than enough from this expansion pack.

Needing at least 33 lots for filling up 99 units might seem like a lot until you factor in that Newcrest alone has 20 empty lots to begin with and some people like me might have every world unlocked as well. Plus, two residential rental lots to begin with from Tomarang subtracts from this as well. The only thing about this that sucks is that some people from the gallery apparently share residential rental buildings with more than 6 units meaning they were originally designed to have more than 6 units, but having more than 6 units from a residential rental lot may not be a good idea.

Thx for posting that!

Can you post back here before the current Spring publisher sale is over? Was considering taking advantage of this EP 25% discount. But had reservations about the game play like you did as well.

I'm more of a game play focused / family legacy building Simmer. So really not into the building aspect and tend to use the Gallery almost exclusively for build downloads. But the save game corruption issues ppl have been having with the 6 apt limit is concerning. Because you don't know (and can't control) what apt home designs ppl are uploading to the Gallery.. Or how/what cheats they used when building and/or mixing different EP/SP/GP stuff pack content for the home lots.

Then there's the possible bug/corruption when ppl mix and match Uni apt doors with City Life apt doors v. For Rent doors. What game breaking bugs mixing this pack content could have for your game. Not worth the risk IMO.

Anywhow, pls post back before the sale is over. Would love to get some updated feedback from someone who recently bought this EP.

Thanks so much for following up on this! This was EXTREMELY helpful. Seems safe to go ahead and take advantage of the 25% discount then. Just need to watch what updated mods don't want to play nice with the recent patch update. tysm again for taking one for the team! :)

Playing a tenant can be potentially fun as well and not just landlord where I have played as both and it is entirely possible as well for a few households to be a landlord and a tenant at the same time. Also, a new lot challenge (which I have not played yet) is unlocked as well only available for non residential rental lots from this expansion pack and if you want a lot to be haunted house residential from Paranormal stuff pack it cannot be a residential rental lot. Residential rental lots overall seem to work best on old saved games that you have kept for a long time, because you are more likely to have more lots being used as well on older saved games than newer saved games.

Oi Vey! I'm still updating my mods folder so haven't had a chance to do any vanilla game play testing.

So if I'm understanding you right, it sounds like you're saying you CAN'T have the haunted Paranormal lot trait AND the For Rent lot traits (like mold etc) in a For Rent rental residence in Tomerang? And if so, is this the same for non Tomerang worlds like Newcrest etc?

And if so, is this still the case after the latest update (which broke so many legacy save games and other vanilla SP game mechanics)?

Because wasn't the whole point of the recent update to create cross play among other GPs/EPs and SP DLC?

People still can corrupt their save game if they create too many rents residence. They fixed some smaller bugs, but the critical bugs still there and if you are unlucky, you can trigger them.

As long you don’t create more as 6 rent residence pro lot and don’t create too many you should be fine. The bug which you could not change a rent residence to a normal should be fixed. I don’t encounter many bugs as I played as tenant(vanilla). No experience as landlord, so this should better answer another person.

I'm keen to get this DLC for its content (on sale, of course) and I've gone through various reviews and comments since it came out, but I'm wondering what bugs still persist after supposed patches. Some of the bugs sound horrendous, such as corrupting saves.

It would be really handy if people can list what bugs are still going on as of this month.

Thanks in advance! :)

There are still some issues but not really really big bad ones like on initial launch. I'm not sure i would recommend it to anyone in it's current state however. You can make apartments and rent them, but getting rent can be really buggy somewhat. It can work sometimes, and others not.
I haven't had a save corruption lately though. But i've honestly been too scared to try anything much related to the to-rent pack. Hence why i wouldn't recommend it. For something released, it's so broken it's not funny.

I use the horses a lot and i found that they work fine. I even have a house on one of the maps where there are training bits just outside the lot so i don't include them on my lot. It's basically like free space! I love riding my rainbow unicorn everywhere. I haven't really had issues with the horses. I hope you have fun with it too!

I got horses and played for a bit, so far so good, tho I played as Geralt and he lives in a camping bag in forest so I am not sure I tested alot ;p No data corruption anyways ;p

I think the biggest scare is the save corruption, my savegame is 10 years old I dont want to loose that ;p

I dont care that much for small bugs, I would really like to take advantage of having multiple families on the same lot. One of my sims has a castle and his kids will probably live there with their families too ;p On top of that I often invite say painters and such to do some work for him and I also wanted to add some horses too ;p So the rent itself doesnt matter so much its about the ability to create a large place for alot of sims ;p
