breaking a computer in game for event

whats the best way to break your computer for this weeks event, I bought the lowest computer but I cant seem to break mine

Shift click on PC then choose break

I get the impression the computer you use to test the time device is the one that's supposed to break and fixing it should be thing you're immediately able to do. It doesn't work like that, but that's what I think it supposed to happen.

I did what CrackeR suggested, then paid to replace it since it seems forcing a device to break will break it for good.

I'm stuck on the "Give yourself a pep talk" that's supposed to be connected to the event at few steps later.

I finally broke it by having my guy write 2 books, play in a game tournament, make a video game, then attempt to make a second video game. it broke at that point.

As for the "Give yourself a pep talk" I just walked up to a mirror in the bathroom and it gave me the option to choose the event version. I just finished this weeks events.

broke after the initial objective cleared, luckily the sim i'm working with is really good at computing stuff, both hardware and software, so she got that sorted without issue. just starting on the exercising for an hour and then something to eat followed up by querying emit for answers.

That went quickly, week 3 is done.

Just put the PC next to a sprinkler and turn sprinkler on. Presumably if the PC was outside in the rain it would also break.

it would and remain indefinitely broken until the rain stopped, the same with any other electrical device. once the rain ends you can repair it.

Yep. So once broken, take back inside and repair.

Shift click doesnt give the option of breaking my computer, only debug or set as head. My computer is fully upgraded and I fear this may be preventing it from breaking, so I'm stuck at this quest and unable to progress.

put another cheap computer down on a desk near by, use it and then repair it, after that get rid of it.

I did the very first quest of the week and the computer broke, then 3 new quests popped up, one of them to repair a computer. It is phrased ingame as if that is what should have happened. so, just do the quest research and it should break your computer. No extra breaking needed AND you shouldn't get the quest to repair a computer before the one you were working on broke.

This weeks event took me less than 5 minutes, but it says I caught the thief but (unless I'am missing something) doesn't give the identity of the thief).

just use the gremlin lot challenge trait it break everything at night and you can get it done

My issue is that I used a public lot (Library) computer. And when it broke I was unable to click on it to fix it. I logged out without saving but upon logging back in, the event progress WAS saved, but nothing else. So the task to repair or replace the computer remains. I've already broken a new computer back at my home lot and repaired it but this didn't clear the event task. UGH

I simply clicked on salvage and when the screen went blue I canceled the salvage. Computer didnt disappear and it had the blue screen still. now you can repair or replace it
