The Sims™ 4

How do you do custom music?
I was looking at The Sims 4 folder, and there's a directory called Customer Music. It's empty.
How do you add customer music? Does it need to be a particular file type?
I want to put Gregorian chants under "Latin", and actual Christmas music under "winter holiday".

Is this some sort of prediction for in-shop music feature? Anyways, use wave files. That is surely the smartest way to go about it. Not very large at all wave files.

Correction: this folder is for radio station playlists. WAV files don't work. At least not for Sims 4. They have to be MP3 files. Each game folder under Custom Music has a genre, one for each radio station your Sims have listened to.. You can put your own mp3 files in there, but be careful if you plan to live stream anything so you don't violate any copyrights.
I found out that my new Windows 11 filesystem won't let me "rip" my music from my old CDs because of some sort of copyright protection. So... not gonna work.
there are sites out there that let you download youtube videos, so if windows wont let you rip your own music you can find the song you want on youtube and use a site to download it as an MP3 and it'll work
I had something in Linux that could fiddle with audio files.
Guess I need to dig out one of the raspberry pies I got for my robots and use it to get some music files.
All the stuff on Amazon, that I once used to burn to disk, can't be downloaded anymore. I just realized all the music I got requires a CD player or it's now useless.
Since I'm nearly deaf, it was pretty much useless anyway.
