going to work vs sending sims to work
I have my sim in the detective career right now. shes done everything she needs to to get promoted all the way up. is there any benefit to going to work with her at this point now that i dont really have to go on patrols or go to scenes now. I have finished enough cases. So once you finish everything you need to do on any active career, do you need to go anymore or just let them go on their own?

Hi (again!), I let them go on their own. If there is any benefit to keep playing it live I do not know.

ok thx. i started letting her go on her own. i might get promoted a bit faster going since i do work the whole time. i have her work hard every day. but at this point im bored of the job so as long as she gets promoted in the end, even if it takes a few more days. i dont mind lol.

the active careers are fun for a few then they get boring (cop is the most boring, doctor is the least imo)

once you get bored/tired of following your sim to work you can send them on their own however they will not get promoted until you complete their tasks which will require you to either follow them back to work after each promotion or use a mod like UI cheats to autofill the requirements

ya, she has done enough cases to make it the rest of the way but it seems slower not going. i dont know, could just be me being bored waiting for her to get home or i may be at one that finally got tougher. I am doing a collection challenge kinda thing. I am trying to collect all the work things, collectibles, crafted stuff. just kinda anything you cant really just buy, well unless u cheat lol.

One of my Sims is in the scientist career, and I occasionally still go with her because it's a nice change from taking care of all my other Sims. Also, it can get your Sim an additional promotion even once they have reached the top level. You have to see to it that they perform the required tasks, and even though these are a bit repetitive, I found that I enjoy them a lot more when I've given myself a break and looked after other Sims instead of following her to work. And in case I get bored making her do her tasks, I send her to Sixam to chat with the aliens :)
