dlc missing from ea to steam transfer
After one of the recent updates, my sims 4 started crashing after 15-20 minutes of playtime in EA. After a lot of trying to work through it, I figured out I could link everything, including DLC supposedly, to my steam account and play through there. I've been playing just fine now, but it's only base game.
In game, it's showing that I have most of the packs installed, but in steam, it says I have no dlc purchased. I've read online that dlc should automatically be installed with the game during the transfer.

I don't know if this is the right platform or discussion to be in, so let me know! Maybe someone else is dealing with this same issue. Thanks!

Yeah. That's how it works. I found the mermaid pack on sale on EA for $20, half off. No steam sale. So I bought it from EA and not steam.
Doesn't show up on steam. Not supposed to.

First you need to uninstall both Sims 4 from EA APP and Steam, then install it only through Steam. If you have it already installed via EA APP it will not work and only give you a headache.

Just to avoid confusion...
The dlc's that you purchased on the EA app, will work with the Steam version of the base game. But bare in mind as they wasn't brought on Steam, those dlc's wont show as being purchased within your Steam library.

( I suggest any dlc you own on EA app, mark them off on the steam dlc's list as "ignored" via their individual store pages, to avoid double purchasing them. Especially if you plan on buying any dlc for the game from steam in the future.)

In order for your EA dlc's to show up in your Steam version of the base game, you need to make sure your EA account is linked to steam. And only have the Steam version of Sims 4 installed on your pc.

Once you boot up the game on steam, all you EA dlc's should be installed along with the base game files and show up in game. If you don't see them in game follow the steps in the link provided in the above post by Xeriath.
