Can anyone tell me how she did the roof?
I was watching this video of the micro home made by Kanami and I love the roof! But I'm not sure if it really can be done? I've asked the builder, but if she doesn't answer me, can anybody tell me how it's done? I'm dying to know!

I did it! (Sort of... ;)) But it was the shift key! Didn't know you could do that! Thanx for all the ideas and help everyone!!! :D

Heyy, I think it's just a simple extention of the room one one side. You know how you can adjust the overhang length? Well, if you hold shift while adjusting it, you'll only change the side that you're dragging (assuming you're on pc), so if you hold shift and drag whatever side you want to go to the ground, there ya go

It might be a roof, but it might also be a wall with windows... If you have Mexi's TOOL you can rotate items, even make them lean, so that bottom portion that actually touches the ground could actually be a wall with windows.
Not sure if there's a way to know without having the lot to poke at, as I don't personally use TOOL. I leave that magic to actual builders.

It looks as if she put two roofs on top of each other, first a regular one (the glass roof), then half a roof on one side which she seems to have duplicated for the other side. It looks as if she's managed to put it under the first roof, or maybe that's an optical illusion and it's really on top of the big roof. What baffles me is that she managed to stack two roofs. I gotta try this :) Also, it's a really cute build with all that glass :)

Thnx for the reply!, but no idea what TOOL is... But she must have used some kind of mod, otherwise that what she did, couldn't have been done in the regular game?!

I thought so too!!! Especially the glas to the bottom on the one side! I haven't tried the double roof yet, but something tells me that won't be easy to do without a mod either... :steamsad:

I think its two separate roofs on the top, she just used delete floor tool under the transparent one. Then she made a second roof on the side of the house. I did the same when I was building Kratos' hut ;p

I think you stack roof with move objects cheat no ?

I checked it doesnt ;p you can put roof pieces one next to the other tho and then just extend it with side things to make it cover each other.

She used some sort of mod or a sneaky trick to have the glass roof extend on one side only all the way down to the ground even tho its all one piece(if you look in the video ;p).

So idk how to make it look exactly the way she did but what you can do is what I did in the picture just place a small bit of wall next to the house and extend the side thingies up all the way to connect with roof.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too, when I rewatched just now. I really gotta try this. I recently did a night club with half a glass roof that extends all the way out over a terrace on the upper floor, so roofs can definitely be lengthened like she did in the video, and like you said - removing the floor gives you that nice transparent look.

This is the best I can come up with without cheats ;p

The only issue is that wall bit on the ground, I have no idea how to fix it. Its all done with extending the roof with side buttons. The top part is just 3 pieces next to one another.

See the extender roof isnt really extended its just a separate roof piece placed on the ground instead of 2nd floor, you can see the roof piece on the ground to the left of the house, its not the way she did it tho, her looks better.
