Only one Marriage partner?
As proponents of polyamory we find the lack of Polygamy in the Sims 4 to be sexist, bigoted, & a hate crime to our life choice. Why can't we chose to marry who we want in the current year!? How narrow minded. :(

Likely because marriage to multiple partners is still illegal. I think in all countries?

However, I believe it was Eco that introduced NAP's (neighbourhood action plans), and one of them is... free love? I think is what it's called? Which actively encourages poly/open relationships. So there is that.

Polyamory is official on The Sims 4 which is really not that much different from polygamy and polyandry (where a wife has multiple husbands and the opposite of polygamy but probably less common than polygamy in real life) where it involves two or more partners (although having only one spouse and multiple partners at the same time is similar to free love, open relationships, and polyamory as well) especially with the serial romantic aspiration and anyone who has the noncommittal trait (which is also the opposite of loyal trait). Due to the very controversial nature of polygamy and polyandry it should not be considered surprising that any of this stuff would be locked behind mods and should stay that way instead of being included on basegame. Take for example that both sexual orientation and even pronouns were very controversial when first added to basegame of The SIms 4. To help clear up confusion partners are not the same thing as spouse because a partner could also be in reference towards someone who is a boyfriend/girlfriend but not married. Not to mention as well that polygamy and polyandry are illegal in most countries (except for Muslim countries mostly) and overall extremely rare in the United States besides maybe the state of Utah which even there polygamy (but probably does not include polyandry because it is even more rare than polygamy) is not commonly practiced anymore and confirmed to be rare for 21st century even for Utah (which according to my recent research is only 40,000 people out of a population of 2.37 million people currently and less than 2% of the entire population) where its use probably started to decline rapidly for that state during the early 1980's, 1970's, or earlier where if I am not mistaken is only legal for Latter Day Saints and Mormons (which are overall very similar to Latter Day Saints and both originated from Joseph Smith but their beliefs may not necessarily be identical to each other).

A hate crime?
Take it to your government. The Sims 4 is a video game.

ah yes it's possible to have multiple couple with that aspiration, but still you can't officially marry more than one wife/husband without mod.

And it should stay that way. I do not want polygamy and polyandry to be basegame.

I wonder why many people have grunge against polygamy / polyandry but they allowed open relationship and change gender 🙄

Because of culture/religion/law + It’s rare that a poly relationship truly works. Most humans can’t have a poly relationship without the case that a partner have the feeling to get neglected.

Nice necro, thank you for the clown.

To your reply; It’s more as fact that most poly relationship doesn’t work out and honestly I don’t want a poly relationship because this doesn’t fit with my moral. This has nothing to do with jealousy.

Poly can work if all partners agree with it but most of the time it is rather that one partner wants a poly and one of the other partners not. So one person agrees although they don’t want. In the end one suffers until they release that poly is nothing for them. If it would be so easy there were much more stories about successful poly relationships but sadly is rather the other way around.

Not really, you still have the limited that you are bound on one spouse. There was a bug which you could have more spouses, not sure if they fixed that.

You can disable jealousy and have more as one partner but not more spouses. I doubt they will add that officially because most countries don’t allow that.
